UK Telecom network operator PIPEX has launched a new fully managed VoIP product that it claims will save businesses money on their telephone line rental and call charges.

The VoIP for Business product combines a high speed Internet connection and IP telephony with in-built security and Private Branch Exchange Functionality on PIPEX's own secure broadband network. PIPEX claims that the system will not lose voice quality or be exposed to hackers due to the managed security and broadband telephony technology.

Intra-office calls on the system are free according to PIPEX with calls to 01 and 02 numbers less than GBP0.01 per minute. A spokesperson for PIPEX said that the system is a converged solution for a forward thinking business that wants high speed Internet access and free intra-site telephone calls.
